Brecken Haus is a truly special mountain retreat? A rustic, cozy, and full of character. Hand-built over several summers and completed in 1973, this cabin reflects a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and sustainability. We’re proud of the natural, environmentally conscious materials used throughout, which add to its timeless charm and authentic mountain feel.
Sleeping Arrangements:
Bedroom 1: Queen bed
Bedroom 2: Queen bed + twin-over-twin bunk bed
One full bathroom with a shower (lower level)
Living Spaces:
The upper level is the heart of the home, featuring expansive windows, abundant natural light, a comfortable seating area, a full kitchen, and a beautiful central fireplace. Step out from the living room onto the large deck and take in stunning views of Baldy Mountain and the surrounding forest, perfect for morning coffee or evening relaxation.

Free Wi-Fi
TV with YouTube TV (85+ channels—something for everyone)
Located just 3 miles from downtown Breckenridge (about a 10-minute drive)
Direct access to hiking right outside the door, including Spruce Creek Trail and Crystal Lakes Trail
Important Things to Know:
An AWD or 4WD vehicle with proper snow tires is strongly recommended, and required in winter conditions
The antique stove has a working stovetop; the oven is not operational
Please refer to the in-home information binder for fireplace instructions and other helpful details
The home sits near 10,000 feet elevation!Please plan accordingly for high-alpine conditions year-round
Colorado Traction Law (September–May 31)
All drivers on I-70 between Morrison and Dotsero must comply with Colorado’s Traction Law. Vehicles must be equipped with AWD/4WD and snow-rated tires, approved winter tires, or proper traction devices. Please ensure your rental vehicle meets these requirements and mention your destination when renting. No refunds will be issued due to improper vehicles or road conditions.

Nice Breckenridge Retreat

- Easy check-in and helpful staff of Alpine Meadows Management. - Clean house, comfortable beds, and adequately equipped kitchen. - Close to town and close to trails! We were able to do some long hikes and bike rides without having to drive to a trailhead. We also enjoyed using the deck very much - reading or just watching the peaceful woods.

The perfect mountain getaway!

It's hard to put into words how much we enjoyed this cabin and the location. Just far enough out of Breck, while being really close to nature. The cabin was clean and offered just the right amount of amenities to make it a "cabin" experience and not a luxury experience. Mornings and evenings spent on the deck treated us with several animal sitings from a safe and secure distance. We saw a black bear, a moose, foxes, deer and plenty of birds, squirrels and chipmunks. We're coming back!

Cute cabin and great location. Did not like not having a dishwasher, the dinky and old bathroom, and the fireplace was difficult to work. We needed it for great but we could no regulate it and it works become too hot or go out

Alpine Meadows and the homeowners would like to thank you for sending your feedback of your stay at Brecken Haus. We do specify that there is not a dishwasher so people are aware prior to booking. We think the unit is as pictured with the one bathroom, sorry that you found it to be too small.

Our Short Vacation

I would like to thank Alpine Meadows for understanding our emergency. Unfortunately, we had to cut our vacation short due to our daughter getting sick while in Breckenridge. We took a trip to the ER a day after we arrived, and Doctors recommended that we kept our daughter on oxygen the entire time. We had many plans, but the health of our daughter came first. We decided to pack up and leave, and management staff from Alpine Meadows were able to coordinate with Airbnb to refund some of our money. I was very surprised to receive the news a few days later. Thank you!!
